Pittsburgh Panthers Advance to Elite Eight In March Madness

It was a close ending, but the Pittsburgh Panthers defeated Xavier, 60-55. This win has advanced the team to the Elite Eight where they will play either Villanova or Duke, depending on the outcome of their game. That game between Pitt and one of the other two teams will take place this Saturday, March 28. The Panthers only have three more games to win until they can be crowned champions of March Madness.

Pittsburgh Panthers Move on to Sweet Sixteen

After defeating Oklahoma State 84-76, the Pittsburgh Panthers have advanced to the next round of March Madness. They will play Xavier this Thursday, March 26 to try and move into the Regional Finals.

Dwayne Wade and President Obama Have Faith in Pitt

ESPN is in frantic celebration today over March Madness, which kicks off early today, Thursday, March 19. One segment they decided to do this year was to have a friendly competition between actor Samuel L. Jackson and Miami Heat player Dwayne Wade. Each opponent is to fill out their brackets and see who does the best...and guess what? Wade picked the Pittsburgh Panthers to go all the way! Check out the video below.

Also, President Obama, who does not hide his great love for basketball, has put Pitt in the Top 4 on his brackets.

Pittsburgh Panthers Apart of the March Madness

This Friday, March 20 will kick off the Pittsburgh Panther's first game in the NCAA March Madness. The Panther's will be facing the East Tennessee State Buccaneers first in this single elimination tournament. Pittsburgh will be looking to forward DeJuan Blair to help pull the team through. Six Tribune writers have made their predictions for how the brackets will play out. Of those six, four predict that Pittsburgh will make it to the final four, and three even believe that the Panther's will win the championship.
