Much Talk About Possible Pittsburgh Steeler Trades and Re-Signs

This Friday, Byron Leftwich, one of the Steeler's backup Quarterbacks, will become an unrestricted free agent.  The question is, will he want to resign with the Steelers...and will they even ask him to come back?  He has told reporters that he has been looking for a team where he could be a starter, because he believes he is better than many of the NFL starters right now.  Yet, he also has expressed his love for the Steeler organization and playing under the coaching direction of Mike Tomlin.  It will be interesting to see the route both parties take.

The Steelers have expressed their interest to re-sign Charlie Batch to be the backup to Ben Roethlisberger.  They also have Dennis Dixon, last seasons fifth round draft pick who the Steelers had hoped would take the number two spot in time.

No worries though.  Big Ben will of course be back next season as the Super Bowl winning Quarterback.  Make sure to pick up your  Ben Roethlisberger gear!

Ben Roethlisberger Shows He's the Man

Ben Roethlisberger has been nothing short of amazing this year, registering quarterback ratings over 100 in all but one game.

Oddly, that one game where he fell one-tenth of a point short may have been his best game of the season.  Trailing 21-16 vs the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Big Ben faced a 3rd-and-10 situation from the Browns 30 yard line.  Intending to throw the ball, Roethlisberger could not find an open receiver, and instead tucked the ball and took off running.  30 yards later, the Steelers had their first lead of the game.

The Browns came right back with a huge 100 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

But to cap it all off for Roethlisberger, he drove the Steelers 82 yards in just under eight minutes to take the lead back, fishing the drive with a touchdown pass to Heath Miller.

Roethlisberger finished the day 23 of 34 for 278 yards, with two passing TDs and the 30 TD run.
