Pirates Sweep the Cubs
The Pittsburgh Pirates are now two games out from .500 after sweeping the Chicago Cubs. The first two wins came be a mere run or two, but the last game was a blow out, taking Chicago down 11-1. Throughout the series, the Pirates had Home Runs from Ryan Church and Andy LaRoche. It’s always a great feeling to sweep any team, but when they happen to be a Division Rival, that makes it all the sweeter.
It might be a bit much to ask for a World Series this year, but the way the Pirates are playing, it looks like they could finally end up with a winning season; this is a task they have been unable to accomplish in 17 years.
