Penguins Grab First Win in Montreal

After shutting out the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night, in Montreal, the Pittsburgh Penguins are now up a game in the series. Despite starting out hot at the beginning of the series, Sidney Crosby had another game with no points. Regardless, the Penguins lead the series, 2-1, with one more game in Montreal before returning back to Pittsburgh for Game 5.
A scoreless game up until the third period, it was really anyone’s game until Pascal Dupuis put in an Empty Netter in the final seconds of the game. Evgeni Malkin scored the Pens opening goal in the first 1:16 of the third period, during a Power Play; Sergei Gonchar and Alex Goligoski each had an assist on the play.
Marc Andre Fleury may have only had 18 shots on him, but he had some great saves to keep his opponents scoreless. Fleury marked up his sixth win and first Shut Out of the Playoffs.
Game 4 will take place this Thursday, May 6, at 7:00 P.M. ET.
