Evgeni Malkin Tears it Up at World Championship

With the absence of the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Eastern Conference Finals, Evgeni Malkin went to Cologne, Germany to represent his home country of Russia in the World Championship. Russia made it to the finals, but could not finish off the Czech Republic in the Gold Medal Game. However, Malkin really put up a great performance during the tournament.

As reported by the Penguins’ Website, “In five games, Malkin posted five goals, seven points, a plus-6 rating and had 26 shots on goal.” Very impressive! His numbers put him towards the top of the leaderboards in several categories, including points and goals.

The young Forward played a tremendous season for the Penguins this year, and can hopefully come back with even better numbers next season.
