Penguins Tie Up the Series at One Game a Piece

After a close Game 1 that resulted in a loss for the Pittsburgh Penguins, they were determined to take Game 2 from the Ottawa Senators. The Penguins defense limited the Senators to only 20 shots in the game, compared to their 31. Sidney Crosby had a goal and an assist in this game, giving him a hand in every Penguins Post Season goal to date, except one; he leads the NHL in Post Season points.

It was very disheartening seeing Ottawa score in the opening 18 seconds of the game. Luckily, it didn’t seem to phase the Penguins, who tied up the score about eight minutes later. Crosby had the tying goal off an assist from Chris Kunitz. The game remained tied all the way up into the final minutes of the third period, when Kris Letang scored the winning goal for the Pens.

Marc Andre Fleury really stepped up his performance in Game 2, making 19 saves and holding the Senators off for the rest of the game after their opening goal. The goalie can be one of the most disheartened when a team scores so quickly, but Fleury kept his head in the game and pulled out the win.

The two teams travel to Ottawa for Game 3, which will take place this Sunday, April 18, at 6:30 P.M. CT.
