The Pittsburgh Penguins took on the New Jersey Devils Friday night, but weren’t able to take down their Division Rivals. Despite the loss, the Penguins still lead the division with two points. The Devils are currently undefeated in their record against the Penguins this season.
Less than two minutes into the game, New Jersey put in the opening goal; however, Sidney Crosby answered back less than a minute later. This was Crosby’s 45th goal of the season, maintaining his position as Leading Goal Scorer in the NHL. In the second period, the Devils had a chance at a Penalty Shot, but it was unsuccessful, leaving the score tied. Unfortunately, New Jersey had two goals in the third period, giving them the win.
Marc Andre Fleury had a good first two periods, but the two he gave up in the third period clinched the game for the Devils. Despite the three goals, he made 29 saves throughout the game. His record is now 31-17-4.
The Penguins take on the Tampa Bay Lightning this Sunday, March 14, at 5:00 P.M. ET.
