Fleury Grabs Shut Out, Keeping the Penguins Ahead

As the Regular Season draws closer to an end, the race for Atlantic Division leader is tight. The Pittsburgh Penguins Shut Out against the Boston Bruins helped maintain a one point lead over the New Jersey Devils, but the Devils still have a game in hand. Marc Andre Fleury, who has been a little off his game in this second half of the season, got his first Shut Out of the season.
Eight and a half minutes into the game, Tyler Kennedy netted his tenth goal of the season, giving the Penguins and early lead. The score remained 1-0 up until the final minutes of the second period, when Alexei Ponikarovsky made it a two goal lead with an assist from Kris Letang. Michael Rupp gave Pittsburgh a little breathing room in the third period when he made it a 3-0 game.
Fleury made 17 saves for his first shut out of the season. The defense did a great job limiting the shots on Fleury, but he had some amazing saves to keep the Bruins scoreless.
The Penguins get a night off before taking on the Carolina Hurricanes Tomorrow, March 20, at 1:00 P.M. ET.
