The Pittsburgh Penguins suffered their second consecutive shut out on Tuesday, falling to the Boston Bruins. Luckily, the Penguins had a great start to the season, so they currently still lead the Atlantic Division with 24 points. The Penguins are still without their Alternate Captain, Evgeni Malkin, but he should be returning soon. Unfortunately, the Penguins have had to face a couple tough teams since Malkin got injured.
The Pittsburgh Penguins held off the Bruins in the first period, despite only taking two shots of their own. Early in the second period, Boston put their first goal in. The Penguins added 13 more shots, but were still unable to put anything in. The third period was a similar story, with 12 more shots from Pittsburgh and another Boston goal. The Bruins added one more into an Open Net after Pittsburgh pulled Marc Andre Fleury in the final minute.
Fleury had a better night against the Bruins than he did against the Sharks. He only gave up two goals, but saved 26 shots. Unfortunately, he will have to add another loss to his record.
The Penguins will hopefully get out of this funk by Thursday, when they take on the New Jersey Devils. The game will start at 7:30 P.M. ET. The Devils currently trail the Penguins in the Division by two points.
