Pittsburgh Steelers Take First Pre-Season Loss Against Red Skins
Steelers- 13 Red Skins- 17
Ben Roethlisberger had to watch from the sidelines as his team battled the Washington Red Skins in their second Pre-Season game. The Super Bowl XLIII Quarterback injured his Achilles' tendon in practice this week, causing him to sit out the Red Skins game. Pittsburgh Steelers fans everywhere can let out a sigh of relief that the injury is not serious and the missed game was only Pre-Season.
Charlie Batch took the place as starting QB, throwing for 63 yards, but only making 5/14 completions. Dennis Dixon followed with 68 yards, completing half of his 16 passes. Arch Reilly finished the game off with 17 yards and 2/5 completions. There weren't any interceptions thrown by any of the three Quarterbacks.
The Steeler's 13 points came from two Field Goals and a Touchdown. Willie Parker had a three yard run for the touchdown and. Jeff Reed had a 34 yard Field Goal and Piotr Czech made a 41 yard attempt. Unfortuantely, Pittsburgh ended the game four points behind Washington.
