Sidney Crosby Wins ESPY for Best Player of the Year, Third Time in a Row
For the third consecutive year, Sidney Crosby, Captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins, currently the Stanley Cup Champs, has been awarded the ESPY for Best Player of the Year. This year, Crosby broke records as the youngest Captain to lead his team to a Stanley Cup Victory, at age 21. The ESPY is an award given out at the Annual ESPN Award Show.
Along with Crosby, other finalists for the award were teammate Evgeni Malkin, Washington’s Alexander Ovechkin, and Detroit’s Pavel Datsyuk.
With a Captain like Crosby and a well-rounded team like they had this year, the Penguin's have a very good chance on being a Stanley Cup Finalist again next year.
